N4Cs Hosts Bluegrass Concert and Jam Session

As a prelude to the ever-popular OATS Bluegrass Festival in the summer, Northern Columbia Community and Cultural Center (N4Cs), Benton will host a free OATS Prefest, raffle, and jam session on Saturday, November 19, starting at 6PM at the Center. N4Cs and OATS (Out Among The Stars) are co-sponsoring the event, in order to introduce more local people to the joy of blue grass music.

Several local blue grass groups will perform. At 6PM, Raven Creek, featuring Joe and Lorraine Feola, will introduce the evening. They will be followed by Susquehanna String Theory at 7PM, with Al Lumpkin. And finally, preceding the jam session, Stained Grass Window will perform at 9PM. A jam session will go until the last person leaves. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the evening for chances to win valuable prizes. Several of the raffle items include a handmade guitar, hand-turned salad bowl set, handmade stained glass piece, handmade silverplate wind chimes, 2012 OATS weekend tickets, and an annual membership to N4Cs, among others. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

Refreshments will be available. The event is free and open to the public. For further information please call N4Cs at 925-0163.
