Younger Children Programs
The following classes will be instructed by Yelena Giamber, Yelena was recently employed by the Fairfax County Park Authority as a tot class instructor. During that time she proved herself to be a wonderful instructor who interacts exceptionally well with children and parents. She taught tumbling, gymnastics, arts and crafts and created her own "Magic Kitchen Series.

"Baby's Clap Club" with Moms fages 7 to 12 months!
The "Baby's Clap Club" with Moms class is a wonderful way for babies ages
7-12 months to grow up. Long before babies can talk they have control over
their hands. Teaching them to Sign enhances baby's ability to communicate
with parents and caregivers as well as provides a foundation for language
development and understanding. Class meets on Tuesdays from l:45pm to
2:15pm. Cost is $25 for Members and $32 for Non-members per session. A
minimum of 4 children and a maximum 12 children in this class.

"MAGIC COOKERY CLASS" (ages 3 to 8 years!)
The "MAGIC COOKERY CLASS" wiff teach children to create their own real edible cookies and cupcakes. The recipes of these edible treats originate from children stories that are read and discussed in class. The preparation of the cookies and cupcakes does not require the use of any sharp items or a hot oven. Recipes do not include milk, eggs, or peanuts. The creative activities will stimulate the child's cognitive, physical and social development. Class meets on Tuesdays with children meeting at 3:00pm to 3:45 pm ages 3 to 5, and 4:10pm to 4:55pm for children that are ages 6 to 8. Cost is $37 for Members and $45 for Non-members per session and includes all materials and equipment. A minimum of 4 children and a maximum 8 children in these classes.

Let's Make Believe (ages 3 to 6 years)
The Let's Make Believe Class will help children ages 3 to 6 years to find and learn many of life's invaluable skills: imagination, creativity, self-expression and aptitude. Activities are from puzzles to puppets, plus, play food, magnetic activities, music, magic, and more... All of the world is a stage for young theater enthusiasts! Children discover the fun of role playing, dressing in costume and making props. Perfect for children who love pretend play and have an active imagination! Class meets on Thursdays with children meeting from 2:00pm to 2:45pm that are 2 years from entering Kindergarten, and 3:00pm to 3:45pm for children that are going to go to Kindergarten next year. Cost is $30 for Members and $38 for Non-members per session and includes all materials and equipment. A minimum of 4 children and a maximum 8 children in these classes.

"Soft Toys to Sew"(4th to 6th Graders)
The "Soft Toys to Sew" class is a great class for children to improve their attention span, self-discipline, and also, to create their own toys. This program exposes children to many of life's invaluable skills, such as imagination, creativity, and self-expression. The class teaches children to carefully use a needle and scissors, handle patterns, decipher project instructions, and generally coming to grips with working with fabric without worrying about the sewing part. Class meets on Thursdays from 4:00pm to 4:45pm. Cost is $40 for Members and $52 for Non-members per session and includes all materials and equipment. A minimum of 4 children and a maximum 8 children in these classes.

Preschool Gymnastics & Tumbling (ages 4 to 6 years)
Preschool Gymnastics & Tumbling is an exciting challenge for children
interested in gymnastics; it introduces them to floor exercises, balance beam
moves and springboard techniques. The purpose of this program is to teach
children the fundamentals of gymnastics and train them to know and control
their bodies and build positive relationships to physical activity. Class meets on
Wednesdays from 9:00am to 9:45am. Cost is $30 for Members and $38 for Non-
members per session and includes all materials and equipment. A minimum of
4 children and a maximum 8 children in these classes.

Pre-School Picassos (ages 2 to 6 years )
Pre-School Picassos is a great way for children to Improve their attention, work
ability and discipline, also to create their own arts and crafts. With this
program the children will learn many of life's invaluable skills: imagination,
creativity, self-expression and aptitude to use a scissors, handling paper and
fabric patterns, deciphering project instructions and generally learning to work
with beans, pencils, paint, brushes and other... without having to worry about
the mess. They will learn elements of art such as line, color, form, texture,
shape and space. Class meets on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 11:15am for
children that are 3 years from going into Kindergarten; 1 l:30am to 12:15pm for
children 2 years from going into Kindergarten; and from 12:30pm to l:15pm for
children going to Kindergarten next year. Cost for the class is $37 for Members
and $45 For Non-members per session. The cost includes all materials and
supplies. A minimum of 4 children and a maximum 8 children in these classes.

Pottery Classes held in conjunction with Black Bear Pottery "Intro to Pottery"
Instructed by Sandra J. Tranor
This class is for adults or children (11 and up). Meeting in a pottery studio setting, this is a beginning class in hand building with clay where students will experience basic forming methods used to create pottery. The class will stress the safety issues of working with various glazes, materials and equipment in preparation for more advanced lessons. Expect to get dirty, so participants are asked to bring an apron or old shirt. Classes to be held on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, the first class of each session will be held at NCCCC, with the remaining classes at the Pottery School located at 210 McHenry, Benton. Cost is $130 for Members and $150 for Non-members per session.

"Young Potters" Instructed by Sandra J. Tranor For ages 5 to 10. Learn to create with clay or just come to "play in the mud". Students will make various articles each week as they learn about pottery. All materials are supplied, except each student should bring an old shirt or apron to wear over their clothes as they work with clay. Classes to be held on Wednesdays from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and will be held at NCCCC. Cost is $60 for Members and $ 72 for Non-members per session.
